  • Doing Good In the Neighborhood - Ways to Help Out

    Feb 25, 2009

Whether the weather is looking bleak or the state of the economy has got you a little on edge, we should always step back and take in the bigger picture. I have to remind myself to do so especially when this cold winter weather gets me down and out with the blustery winds.

Someone who has always been good at looking at the bigger picture in life is Oprah. There was recently an article on her site sharing tips on how to declutter your home and donate to help others in need. Donating unwanted clothing, accessories, furniture and appliances to Goodwill, The Salvation Army and local consignment shops. This helps to declutter, free up space and make a more relaxing atmosphere in your home and you might even get a little cash back!

Although I can't wait for the beach season to arrive and jump into the Beach Rescue crew events, I know there are plenty of ways we can simply give back to our neighborhoods. ChairtyGuide.org has some wonderful suggestions on how you can give back whether you only have 15 minutes, a few hours or a whole vacation of time! Here are a few great suggestions for these cold winter months:

There are many other ideas on the site that I'm sure all Barefooters will enjoy. Feel free to share any other ideas that you have or are already doing!

  • Famous Beaches of the World: Panama City Beach

    Feb 20, 2009

pbc_originalFor those of us living in the Northeast region in the U.S., we're experiencing some brutal cold weathers right now but that doesn't mean it's stopping us Barefooters from finding lots of fun around it! I'm still on the hunt and looking at really amazing places and beaches to get Barefoot all around the world and will be sharing some bits with you each week. Feel free to chime in and let me know if you've already been to one of these famous beaches, would love to go to or have any any other dreamy island beach getaways!

One of the most beloved beaches in North America is located right in Florida. Panama Beach City stretches from St. Andrews State Park to Phillips Inlet and beautiful white sands. It's an even better view along the Panhandle shoreline, where white sheets of quartz sand meet the clear emerald water of the Gulf of Mexico.

Barefoot Wine & Bubbly is set on preserving beaches like those on Panama Beach City and others around the country as clean and beautiful as they should be though their Barefoot Wine Beach Rescue Project. If you haven't already checked out the Barefoot Wine Beach Rescue Project, it's a wonderful project launched to help make America's beaches barefoot-friendly. There are many wonderful Beach Rescue projects coming up for 2009 that YOU can be a part of - make sure to check out the events!
