Wow – Surf City was TOE-RIFFIC!  In this Mecca of sand and surf, we found fans of the ‘Foot everywhere and many more who are gonna “Get Barefoot and Have a Great Time!”  

AVP pros Saralyn Smith and Jennifer Snyder jumpstarted our weekend Thursday, serving up a “best of the beach” competition for sales teams from our California division.  The pros genuinely appreciated the exuberance of our sales force and were excited to see so much great volleyball talent! 

Friday, Saturday and Sunday were nonstop at the Barefoot Big Tent!  Attendance for the weekend topped 20,000 and 5,000 Barefoot eco-bags could be seen inside the venue and all over Huntington Beach. 

If you weren’t tuned in to ABC or ESPN2 for Championship Sunday, then you missed the teams of Todd Rogers/Phil Dalhausser and Jennifer Kessy/April Ross spraying the crowd with Barefoot Moscato Spumante!  

It was the first title of 2010 for Jennifer & April and they thoroughly enjoyed giving their fans a bubbly shower!  We don’t recommend doing this at home – but at our price, why not – sometimes just surviving the work day is reason enough to celebrate. 

Special thanks to the SoCal Barefoot Team (Peter, Nicole, Jessica and Michelle) for your wonderful hospitality.  We’ll be back in July for AVP Hermosa Beach – but first – we hope those of you on the East Coast will come see us as the AVP Summer Tour visits Virginia Beach (June 16-18), and Belmar, NJ (June 25-27).

The AVP Summer Tour hit the American Riviera at the beginning of this month – in beautiful Santa Barbara!  After Fort Lauderdale’s rain soaked event, all the players and sponsors were thrilled to be out there having fun in the warm California sun!   The Barefoot Big Tent and Big Foot took center stage for the public on West Beach and a separate tent sampled wines for an enthusiastic crowd inside the venue.  Our beach friendly Barefoot eco-bags could be seen up and down the sand all day.  On Sunday, the Men’s Final was broadcast live on ESPN2 and the Women’s was on Universal Sports.

Barefoot Moscato Spumante was the choice of champions: Barefoot Wine AVP Next Series Spokesman Todd Rogers and his partner Phil Dalhausser took home their first title of 2010; and celebrating their first championship in two years were women’s finalists Annett Davis and Jenny Jordan-Johnson (daughter of Rafer Johnson-Olympic Gold Medalist in the Decathalon!).  Thanks to “Glam Toe” Michelle Boehnen for spending time this weekend with us.  Only a few weeks until we are back in California – come see us in Huntington Beach June 4-6!

The season of sun, sand and volleyball is upon us which means it's time for this year's AVP Next tournament! Twenty-four leagues across the country are proudly welcoming the 2010 Barefoot Wine AVPNext Series. Winners from each league will receive a trip to the Barefoot Wine AVPNext Championship Cup in Chicago on August 27, 2010. For more information on this year's leagues, check out this link!

Barefoot is so excited to be a part of the AVP Crocs Tour!

Recently, Barefoot was on location in Houston where Olympic gold medalists and top seeds Phil Dalhausser and Todd Rogers took home their third title of the 2009 season at the AVP Crocs Tour Houston Open Presented by Warehouse Pool Supply!

With Sunday’s win, Dalhausser and Rogers became the fifth team in AVP history to surpass $1 million in domestic prize money as a team.

On the women’s side, second-seeded Jennifer Kessy and April Ross took home their first domestic title as a team.

Barefoot Wine AVPNext Championship Cup Gives Beach Volleyball Enthusiasts the Chance to Serve Up Against The Pros This Summer

Sixty-four Hopeful Beach Volleyball Players Convene in San Francisco on August 13th

AVP Pro Beach Volleyball and Barefoot Wine have stepped up their long-standing partnership with the creation of the Barefoot Wine AVPNext Championship Cup to honor talented beach volleyball players across the country. The series will draw hopefuls from men's and women's grassroots amateur beach volleyball leagues in 16 cities. The local series winners will have the opportunity to play for a main draw berth at the AVP Crocs Tour San Francisco to play against the Pros!

Though February days and nights may be a bit chilly for most of us, the AVP players are heating it up at the indoor courts on the 2009 AVP Johnsonville Hot Winter Nights Tour!
