Beach Rescue Concert - It's a Wrap!

Sep 22, 2009

On Saturday, August 29, Barefoot Wine and the Surfrider Foundation celebrated the culmination of 25 beach cleanups from coast-to-coast with a Beach Rescue Concert featuring performances by Mason Jennings, Cold War Kids, Gavin DeGraw and Joss Stone.

More than 250 volunteers braved Tropical Storm Danny to help keep the Jersey Shore “barefoot-friendly.”  That evening, more than 3,000 fans enjoyed the show!

Please check out the slide show above for some great shots from the event of people cleaning the beach, sampling Barefoot Wine & Bubbly and rocking out to the amazing musical performances.  A special thanks to everyone who spent the day with us.  Together we are helping keep America’s beaches barefoot-friendly!

Stay tuned for updates on the 2010 Barefoot Wine Beach Rescue Project.

Cheers,

Jen Wall and your friends at Barefoot

Wow! It's a fantastic thing that so many people 'barefooters' took part. Events like this should take place more often. I'm just wndering who covers the costs?

Beach Rescue Concert featuring performances by Mason Jennings , I feel quite sad just because I have missed this wonderful event. Great work has been done by the 250 volunteers who have tried hard to keep the 3000 fans in tact. Normally I get Final Four Tickets online. While I was on the way to the event I met with a Truck Accident . Following that I had to undergo an Angioplasty operation. I was very confident and I hope that I would be able to visit the next event that would be organized. My Olympus Battery  got down with that accident for my travel needs I get with Tulsa Travel

I feel unfortunate as I was not able to participate in such a noble cause.  I was out on tour and could not get the tickets to come back early and heard about it  after coming back.  Any way it was well arranged and people must have enjoyed  cleaning the coast and the wine. The  slide show is amazing.  I promise I will be there for the 2010 event .  More over I felt bad to know that I missed the Beach Rescue Concert featuring performances of the people I have much heard about.

I missed this concert though the great pictures you have posted are the only solace. It's indeed a noble cause and no small feat to keep the shore barefoot friendly. It seems like you have 250 volunteer who did the work of 500 people. I will mark my calender for 2010 event. Don't want to miss it this time. Grand National
