Good Times in Omaha!!!
Oct 10, 2009
What an amazing crowd at this year's Johnson Brothers of Nebraska Holiday Trade Show in Omaha! We had so many great folks want to get Barefoot with us and sample our brand new Barefoot Bubbly Moscato Spumante - definitely the biggest hit of the evening!
This year's event was held at the beautiful new Embassy Suites in La Vista, NE. So many great friends and supporters were present including John Rasley, Bill Brammeier, Dan Matuszek, and Teresa Bishara!
Due to some crazy champagne bottles, I needed to spend the evening quite literally Barefoot - but all is good when going o' naturale! -
"Rocking our Toes Off" at the McDonnell Music Festival!
Oct 3, 2009
Great day last Saturday in Queensbury, NY! 12 amazing local bands rocked the Adirondack Sports Complex in what was a wonderful fundraiser for FARA (Friedrich's Ataxia Research Alliance). Friedrich's Ataxia is a debilitating, life-shortening, degenerative neuro-muscular disorder. About one in 50,000 people in the United States have Friedreich's ataxia.
The event, run by Dave McDonnell, was a wonderful pulling together of the local community for such a wonderful cause. We at Barefoot were so honored to be supporters!
Special thanks to Gary Hill of Empire Merchants North, Dave McDonnell, and Joe Del Signore from one of our fantastic local liquor stores, "Del Signore Wine & Spirits" - a great place to find Barefoot in the Adirondacks!!!By | 0 Comments | Share It -
Getting Barefoot at the National Buffalo Wing Festival!
Sep 18, 2009
For the second year in a row, Barefoot was the wine sponsor for the National Buffalo Wing Festival - in no other place than Buffalo, NY.
Buffalo is one of my most favorite places to visit and to work events. The crowd is amazing - this year a record breaking 92,000 people attended the Wing Festival. The attitude among the attendees is amazing and there's an overall sense of inclusiveness and excitement. Love LOVE Buffalo!
This year we were able to sample our brand new Barefoot Riesling, Pinot Noir, and Barefoot Bubbly Moscato Spumante - all newly available in Upstate NY. And all 3 came away with rave reviews.
Special thanks to Drew Cerza, the official "Wing King" of Buffalo, for recruiting us to participate in this event - and we plan to continue!!! Big props to Garrett Fardelmann, Erin Smith, and Seth Brandler from the Barefoot team and even bigger props to our distributor, Empire Merchants North and the fabulous Mike Gioia, Erin Hannon, Scott McDonnell, Jason Ryder, and John Schratz! What a super team effort!By | 0 Comments | Share It -
Barefoot Wine Beach Rescue Project - Asbury Park, NJ
Aug 31, 2009
What an amazing weekend - spending Saturday with 350 of your closest friends and cleaning up one of NJ's beaches. Along with the local chapter of the Surfrider Foundation, Barefoot Wine helped recruit members of the community to help keep Asbury Park's beach "barefoot friendly!"
The festivities were finished off with a free concert at Convention Hall. The artists in attendance included Mason Jennings, The Cold War Kids, Gavin DeGraw, and Joss Stone.
This event was the culmination of a whole summer's worth of beach cleanups - 25 in fact. In honor of Surfrider's 25th anniversary - we Barefooters took to the streets (or beaches) to help clean 25 beaches!By | 0 Comments | Share It -
Wine in the Courtyard
Aug 14, 2009
There was wine in the courtyard and all over the grounds of the Vanderbilt Museum (Centerport, NY) last night! The weather held up and I was able to enjoy a glass of our new Barefoot Riesling with many of my friends from our distributor, Empire Merchants:
-Steve Dogmanits (& fiance)
-Melissa Amlinger
-Jim Finore
-Danielle Rios
Our new Pinot Noir and Riesling were great hits! Especially since we've only been selling them now in NY for the last 8 days or so. Of course our Pinot Grigio - still and bubbly were the proverbial hits as well.
This is our 4th year of supporting the Northport Rotary's "Wine in the Courtyard" event. The money raised from the function will go to support so many local charities - including but not limited to: The Gift of Life, The Guide Dog Foundation, Polio Plus, The Ride for Life (ALS).
The staff and owners of Port to Port Wine & Spirits out of East Northport are always there to lend a helping hand. Thanks to them for recruiting us to assist with this event for another year!By | 0 Comments | Share It -
Columbus Ain't No Cow-town!
Aug 10, 2009
This weekend I attended the first ever Columbus Wine Festival in Columbus, Ohio. The event was held August 7-8 at the Franklin Park Conservatory - what a beautiful venue!
The weather was perfect - maybe a little roasty at times but thank goodness there were enough tasty libations available to cool everyone off!
The great Barefoot Wine Sangria Challenge was hit on both days once again - special thanks to our participants!!
-Lindsay Gantner
-Eric Strickler
-Matt Buemi
-Donna Potts
-Pam Little

Congratulations to the team of Rhonda Swanson and Mollie Jelf, Friday night's winners, and to Eric Strickler, Saturday's winner!
We were also fortunate to have had many wonderful folks from Columbus Alive, WBNS 10 TV (including my new friends Angela An and Tanisha Mallet), Columbus City Scene, and WVMX Mix 107.9 volunteer to serve as judges in our competition.
We made so many wonderful new friends this weekend as we spread the word about our fun and affordable Barefoot Wines! Looking to forward to returning to the great State of Ohio. -
Cleveland Rocks!
Jul 30, 2009
Amazing attendance at the Cleveland Wine Festival last month! This was the 4th year of the event and this year's festivities were held June 26-27 at Voinovich Park.
Like last year, we were able to sponsor the Barefoot Sangria Challenge! Fabulous folks from Giant Eagle competed for the title of best Barefoot sangria this year and their ingredient lists had some crazy things on them.
This year's Giant Eagle participants were:
•Barb Moore
•Christine Norman
•Greg Nicholson
•Vickie Cortes
•Gina Napoli
•Missy Beran
The outpouring of excitement and creativity were amazing!!! In the end though, our celebrity judges had to pick a winner. This year's winner (and last year's come to think of it) was Barb Moore from the Giant Eagle corporate office. Very well deserved - but not without some stiff competition!
Overall, the event was wonderful and the folks at InPlay that produce it are so easy and professional to work with. We made so many new Foot Fans and are looking forward to a repeat performance at the first ever Columbus Wine Festival in Columbus, OH on August 7-8th!
