Mom's Italian Pasta Sauce

Wine Pairing: Pinot Noir
Ingredients
- 1 Cup Barefoot Pinot Noir
- 1 Cup Olive Oil
- 1 Clove Garlic
- Salt & Pepper sprinkled around
- 2 Pounds Ground Sirloin Beef
- 1 Pound Chopped Turkey
- 4 springs of fresh Oregano
- 1 small can Tomato Paste
- 3 cans 28 oz. Chopped Tomatoes
- 1 28 oz can tomato sauce
- 4 pints of fresh grape size tomatoes
Instructions
- On bottom of large pan put olive oil, salt&pepper (sprinkle around) 1 clove of garlic mashed, the Barefoot Pinot wine, oregano and let it all sizzle -- add the chopped meats until they start to turn brown and gets cooked well inside, then add all the tomatoes, sauce, and fresh tomatoes. Cook all this covered for about 1-2 hours on medium heat, the longer it cooks, the better it tastes as all the flavors meld together.
- You can use this to top any kind of pasta, lasagne, stuffed shells, baked ziti, any kind of pasta dish.
