Mom's Italian Pasta Sauce

Wine Pairing: Pinot Noir

Ingredients

  1. 1 Cup Barefoot Pinot Noir
  2. 1 Cup Olive Oil
  3. 1 Clove Garlic
  4. Salt & Pepper sprinkled around
  5. 2 Pounds Ground Sirloin Beef
  6. 1 Pound Chopped Turkey
  7. 4 springs of fresh Oregano
  8. 1 small can Tomato Paste
  9. 3 cans 28 oz. Chopped Tomatoes
  10. 1 28 oz can tomato sauce
  11. 4 pints of fresh grape size tomatoes

Instructions

  1. On bottom of large pan put olive oil, salt&pepper (sprinkle around) 1 clove of garlic mashed, the Barefoot Pinot wine, oregano and let it all sizzle -- add the chopped meats until they start to turn brown and gets cooked well inside, then add all the tomatoes, sauce, and fresh tomatoes. Cook all this covered for about 1-2 hours on medium heat, the longer it cooks, the better it tastes as all the flavors meld together.
  2. You can use this to top any kind of pasta, lasagne, stuffed shells, baked ziti, any kind of pasta dish.
  3. Enjoy!
